Interactive travelling exhibition

With our travelling exhibition ‘BECOME A ZWEITZEUG*IN’, we invite young people aged 12 and over to explore stories of survival and life in greater depth, to form their own views, and to work together across generations as second witnesses to stand up against antisemitism and for democratic coexistence.

Comprehensive and multimedia-based

Scope

  • four stories of survival and life (soon to be five)
  • In-depth sections (trauma/gaps, identity, the continuity of anti-Semitism)
  • interactive media stations
  • facts and a timeline on National Socialism and its victims
  • a creative space for visitors to contribute their own ideas as Zweitzeug*innen
  • support materials

Programme options

  • Workshops for school classes and youth groups (aged 12 and over)
  • Events for adults (e.g. readings, guided tours)
  • Opening and closing events
  • Training courses for guides/educators

General conditions

  • Minimum loan period: 4 weeks, longer periods welcome
  • At least 100 square metres of exhibition space (dry, clean)
  • A seminar room for at least 30 people or the option to hold workshops directly within the exhibition
  • Wi-Fi, electricity
  • Costs include transport, set-up and dismantling, insurance and promotion

Our travelling exhibition in detail

This interactive, museum-educational travelling exhibition tells the stories of survival and life of Holocaust eyewitnesses Chava Wolf, Henny Brenner, Dr. Leon Weintraub and Wolfgang Lauinger.

Their biographies are supplemented by historical contextual information across several thematic areas, such as the enduring nature of anti-Semitism. Time and again, a link is drawn to the present day and the lives of (young) visitors. Through multimedia content, audio recordings and numerous interactive elements, the exhibition invites visitors to become active as secondary witnesses themselves.

Supporting programme

On request, the exhibition can be accompanied by a supporting programme featuring a variety of activities for children, teenagers and adults.

The digital learning platform (in German) explores the theme of the continuity of antisemitism in greater depth and incorporates playful elements designed to appeal particularly to young people.

The exhibition shows visitors ways in which they can take action beyond the exhibition itself – to foster an active civil society that stands up against all forms of discrimination.
